Liliana Doyon, LMFT

Helping Modern Couples & Individuals to Heal, Reconnect, and Thrive

A Unique Approach to Healing

My practice blends evidence-based therapy—primarily Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)—with a trauma-informed, intuitive, and culturally grounded approach. I integrate ancestral wisdom, somatic awareness, and deep respect for identity and lived experience. As a sex-positive, LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist who holds an anti-oppressive lens, I offer a space where all aspects of who you are are welcomed.

Someone Who Understands

I’m Liliana Doyon, LMFT, a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist with over 15 years of experience helping couples navigate conflict and reconnect from the heart. As a first-generation Mexican American, Spanish Speaking and President of the New York Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy, I bring cultural attunement, clinical depth, and soul-centered care to everything I do.

My ability to support others is rooted in my own healing. I’ve worked through attachment trauma, internalized oppression, and the weight of early parentification. These lived experiences shape the way I hold space—with warmth, clarity, and a deep understanding of what it takes to move from survival into connection.

A Proven Path to Lasting Connection

Relationships—especially those shaped by cultural complexities, demanding careers, or unresolved emotional wounds—deserve more than surface-level solutions. My work goes deeper, helping couples:

  • De-escalate conflict and repair faster

  • Help uncover unconscious blocks that are hard to spot when you are stuck

  • Rebuild emotional intimacy

  • Communicate with clarity and empathy

  • Navigate transitions with strength and connection

The combination of EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and integrative healing helps you access not just insight—but lasting change.

Who I Work With & How I Help

Many of the couples I work with come to therapy feeling stuck—trapped in conflict, growing distant, or unsure of how to move forward. Whether you’re navigating cultural dynamics, balancing demanding careers, or feeling like you’re drifting apart, I provide tailored support through weekly therapy, intensives, and workshops.

Couples at a Crossroads

  • Constant fighting with no resolution?

  • Feeling more like roommates than partners?

  • Struggling with intimacy or trust?

Multicultural & Bi-Racial Couples

  • Facing tension from cultural or communication differences?

  • Struggling to balance individual identity and shared values?

High-Profile & High-Achieving Couples

  • Are busy careers creating distance in your relationship?

  • Feeling overwhelmed by pressure, responsibility, or public image?

Good questions often are asked more than once.

Common Questions

  • I specialize in high-achieving, multicultural couples—particularly those navigating emotional disconnection, communication challenges, or transitions.

  • If you're ready for focused work in a condensed timeframe, intensives offer a powerful path forward. Workshops allow for shared learning in a guided group setting.

  • I’m direct but compassionate. I help couples quickly identify emotional blocks and use evidence-based and holistic tools to work through them together.

  • Book a free 15-minute consultation. From there, I’ll help you decide whether weekly sessions, an intensive, or a workshop is the best fit.

  • I am not in network with health insurance companies. I can, however, provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for out of network reimbursement.

Reclaim Your Connection. Begin Your Healing Today.

Your relationship deserves the right kind of support—rooted in evidence, grounded in empathy, and personalized to your life.

  • What I love about Lily is how easy she is to open up to. When I share something painful or vulnerable, she receives it with compassion and understanding with words like "of course you felt that way given how you had to adapt in x situation growing up" - she somehow has memorized my core wounds and can retrieve and reflect them back to me to explain my own behavior to me. It's remarkable. She also is able to gently stop me when I unknowingly deflect her question by answering about someone/something else, she'll bring me back to why I deflected and ultimately get me to acknowledge the uncomfortable yet familiar emotion that came up inside. This is where her magic lies: in showing me the adaptive patterns I've developed to cope with my emotions and difficult past experiences. I feel heard and understood when I eet with Lily. She is a treasure.
